Author Guidelines

Guidelines for preparing and submitting manuscripts to the International Journal of Education and Vocational Studies (IJEVS).

1. General Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original scholarly manuscripts relevant to the scope of the International Journal of Education and Vocational Studies (IJEVS). Manuscripts should present clear research objectives, appropriate methodology, meaningful findings, and a discussion that contributes to education, vocational studies, educational technology, workforce development, or related interdisciplinary fields.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are original, scientifically sound, ethically conducted, properly referenced, and prepared according to the IJEVS manuscript template before submission.

3. Manuscript Requirements

4. Title and Author Information

• The manuscript title should be concise, specific, and accurately reflect the content of the research.
• The title should contain no more than 16 words.
• Avoid unnecessary introductory phrases such as “A Study of”, “Investigations of”, “Implementation of”, “Observations on”, “Analysis of”, or “Design of” unless essential.
• A maximum of 5 authors may be listed in one manuscript.
• Provide the full name of each author without academic degrees or professional titles in the manuscript author line.
• Provide the faculty/department, university or institution, city, and country for each author.
• Provide an appropriate email address for each author.
• The corresponding author must be clearly identified.

5. Abstract and Keywords

• The abstract should be informative, concise, and self-explanatory.
• Clearly state the research problem, approach or method, major findings, and conclusions.
• The abstract should be written in the past tense.
• Standard scientific nomenclature should be used.
• Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.
• Literature citations should not be included in the abstract.
• Provide approximately five keywords.
• Keywords should represent the main concepts of the manuscript and support discoverability in indexing and abstracting services.

The Introduction should establish the context and importance of the study and clearly explain the research problem.

• Provide a clear research background.
• Identify the research problem or research gap.
• Discuss relevant literature.
• Explain the novelty or contribution of the research.
• State the research objectives or questions clearly.
• Use appropriate scholarly references to support important claims.

8. Literature Review

The Literature Review should demonstrate the author's understanding of relevant theories, concepts, and previous research.

• Relevant theories and concepts.
• Previous empirical studies.
• Research gaps and unresolved issues.
• Conceptual or theoretical framework.
• Hypotheses, where applicable.

9. Research Method

The Research Method should describe the research process sufficiently clearly so that readers can understand and evaluate the scientific approach.

• Research design and approach.
• Research population, sample, participants, or data sources.
• Data collection and acquisition procedures.
• Research instruments or tools.
• Research procedures and workflow.
• Data analysis or statistical techniques.
• Algorithms, pseudocode, models, or experimental procedures where applicable.
• Ethical approval or ethical considerations where applicable.

10. Tables and Figures

• All tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
• Every table and figure must be cited in the manuscript.
• Tables and figures should appear close to their first citation.
• Tables and figures should be clearly presented and readable.
• Table titles and figure captions should accurately describe their contents.
• Figures should use an appropriate layout and, when prepared in Microsoft Word, should preferably use In Line with Text.
• Authors must ensure that images, diagrams, and other visual materials are original or properly licensed.

11. Results and Discussion

Results should present the findings clearly and objectively, while the Discussion should explain their meaning, significance, and relationship to previous research.

• Present findings using appropriate tables, figures, graphs, or descriptive text.
• Interpret the findings rather than merely repeating numerical results.
• Relate findings to the research objectives or questions.
• Compare important findings with relevant previous studies.
• Explain theoretical, practical, educational, or policy implications where appropriate.
• Clearly identify research limitations when relevant.

12. Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly respond to the research objectives and summarize the principal findings. It should be consistent with the Introduction and Results and Discussion. Where appropriate, authors may describe implications, applications, limitations, and directions for future research.

• References must follow APA 7th Edition.
• Use relevant, recent, and high-quality scholarly sources.
• International journals and scholarly proceedings are encouraged.
• Authors should provide DOI information whenever a cited work has a DOI.
• References should be directly relevant to the manuscript.
• Self-citation should not exceed 20% of the total references.
• All in-text citations should appear in the reference list, and all references cited in the text should be included in the reference list.

14. Citation and Academic Writing

• Use consistent APA 7th Edition citation style throughout the manuscript.
• Use scholarly and authoritative sources to support important statements.
• Foreign-language terms should be written in italics where appropriate.
• Avoid excessive citation of unrelated sources.
• Authors must properly acknowledge quotations, paraphrases, data, and ideas taken from other works.

15. Originality and Research Integrity

Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work and must not contain plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified results, or inappropriate manipulation of research findings.

• The manuscript should not be under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
• All sources must be appropriately acknowledged.
• Authorship should reflect genuine scholarly contributions.
• Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed.
• Funding and relevant research support should be disclosed where applicable.
• Authors should follow applicable research and publication ethics requirements.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the IJEVS online submission system. Authors should ensure that the manuscript has been prepared according to these Author Guidelines and the official manuscript template before submission.

Accepted manuscript file formats are .doc and .docx. The submitted manuscript should be editable for editorial and peer-review processing.

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication. All manuscripts are subject to editorial screening and the journal's peer-review process. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts before a final editorial decision is made.
