Peer Review Policy

IJEVS uses a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. Each manuscript that passes the initial editorial assessment is normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise.

The journal may appoint additional reviewers when the manuscript requires specialized expertise, when reviewer recommendations substantially differ, or when the editor determines that additional independent assessment is necessary.

Peer review is conducted to provide an objective assessment of the manuscript and constructive recommendations for improvement. Reviewer recommendations are considered carefully by the editor; however, the final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editor.

Stages of the Peer Review Process

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the IJEVS online submission system in accordance with the journal's author guidelines and publication requirements.

2. Initial Editorial Assessment

The editorial team checks the manuscript for journal scope, basic scholarly quality, originality, ethical considerations, formatting, completeness, and compliance with submission requirements.

3. Reviewer Selection

Qualified reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, academic competence, research experience, and the relevance of their expertise to the submitted manuscript.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers independently evaluate the manuscript and provide confidential comments concerning its academic quality, methodology, originality, validity, and contribution.

5. Editorial Evaluation

The editor evaluates the reviewer reports and considers the manuscript's scholarly merit, relevance, ethical compliance, and overall suitability for publication.

6. Revision and Final Decision

Authors may be requested to revise the manuscript. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review before the editor makes the final publication decision.

Reviewers are normally requested to consider the following aspects:

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of the manuscript and review materials.
  • Provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based comments.
  • Declare any potential conflict of interest.
  • Decline the review when sufficient expertise is not available.
  • Identify relevant methodological, ethical, or scholarly concerns.
  • Inform the editor of suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other integrity concerns.
  • Complete the review within the agreed timeframe whenever possible.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit original work that has not been improperly published elsewhere.
  • Provide accurate and complete information about the research.
  • Follow the journal's author guidelines and ethical requirements.
  • Respond professionally and substantively to reviewer comments.
  • Clearly identify changes made during revision when requested.
  • Disclose relevant conflicts of interest and funding information.
  • Provide ethical approval or other supporting documentation where applicable.

Editor Responsibilities

The editor is responsible for managing the peer review process fairly and professionally. Editorial decisions are based on the quality, relevance, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and scholarly contribution of the manuscript.

Fairness
Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination based on irrelevant personal or institutional characteristics.
Confidentiality
Editorial and review materials are handled confidentially.
Independence
Editors should avoid inappropriate conflicts of interest when handling manuscripts.
Integrity
Potential research and publication ethics concerns are considered in accordance with journal policy.

Possible Editorial Decisions

Accept

The manuscript is suitable for publication without substantive revision.

Minor Revision

Limited revisions are required before publication.

Major Revision

Substantial revisions are required and further evaluation may be necessary.

Reject

The manuscript is not considered suitable for publication.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts submitted to IJEVS are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editorial personnel should not disclose, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished manuscript information for purposes unrelated to the review process.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers and editors should disclose potential conflicts of interest and should not participate in the evaluation of manuscripts where their impartiality may reasonably be questioned.

Review Timeline

The duration of the peer review process may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and editorial workload. IJEVS therefore does not guarantee a fixed review or publication period.
